FRIDAY, 13 JUNE 2025, PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO: International Game Technology (“IGT”), a global leader in gaming, proudly announces the completion of a computer lab upgrade at the Casa De Corazon children’s home in Sangre Grande. As part of its flagship community initiative, the IGT After School Advantage (“ASA”) programme, the company donated equipment and funded renovations to create a child-friendly learning space at the Home, with new desktop computers loaded with educational software.
Children from Casa de Corazon explore educational software on the desktops in their newly equipped computer lab, donated through the IGT After School Advantage Programme.
The space has been designed to support the academic and personal development of Casa de Corazon’s 11 residents—eight boys and three girls, ages six to sixteen. Working with partner NGOs and children’s homes such as the Casa de Corazon, IGT’s ASA programme aims to provide technology and educational programmes to children who would not otherwise have such opportunities.
Dexter W. Thomas, IGT’s General Manager Trinidad and Tobago, receives a token of gratitude in recognition of the company’s longstanding partnership with Casa de Corazon from its Chairman, Pastor Peter Morris.
“At IGT, we believe every child deserves access to the tools and technology that will empower them in a digital world,” said Dexter W. Thomas, General Manager of IGT Trinidad and Tobago. “The IGT ASA programme is one of the ways we, as a technology company, help close the digital divide, particularly for vulnerable children in residential care. The programme aims to create safe learning environments that foster digital literacy, creativity, and achievement.”

“We are very thankful to IGT for this generous donation and its steadfast commitment to our children over the years,” said Lynette Serrette, Centre Manager at Casa De Corazon. “The upgraded lab provides a modern space where our boys and girls can explore, learn, and grow. They’re very excited to try ABCmouse and the other learning apps on the computers.”
Through IGT’s partnership with the education technology provider Age of Learning, the three new desktops at Casa de Corazon will have access to ABCmouse Early Learning Academy, a comprehensive digital learning programme for children. IGT also offers support to its ASA partners throughout the year with skills training and learning opportunities such as the annual IGT Coding and Robotics Rock! Camp, held exclusively for the beneficiaries of IGT’s ASA programme.
